Why this work existsWe fear each other because we don’t know each other, and today’s technology profits from keeping it that way.

Where I’m coming from

I’ve lived through a rough dose of this world’s social illusions. Trauma is real, and its consequences are real too.

How wounds divide us

The same wounds split us into in-groups and out-groups: the sexes, race, religion, culture, sexuality, politics, rural and urban, poor and affluent. Where they overlap, the divide cuts deepest. A rivalry like decades of state sports teams can be fun, but most of these divides exist only because we stopped talking.

Justice without endless harm

Standing on the right side of the arc of justice is not a license to wound. Call-outs echo back and forth in cycles of harm until enough conscious people on both sides decide to end them.

What others carry

Generational harm can trap people in holes they can’t climb out of. Intersectionality speaks to more of us than we realize, yet media teaches people with the same wounds to see each other as the enemy, while the real powers working against all of us stay out of view.

The surveillance age

Flock cameras, total digital tracking, and psychographic profiles sold to corporations and advertisers are used to stir our emotions and fuel hollow, hostile dialogue, the opposite of fellowship.

The response

ExperiVerse is a work of futurism: anonymous-first, zero-identity, spatially aware technology to help us find each other again, and to do the deep inner work that healing takes.

“Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they can not communicate; they can not communicate because they are separated.”

Martin Luther King Jr.
